Trotting to a global beat

I used to Love Travel™. Partly I've been very lucky. I was able to travel for free to lots of Esperanto events through a charity that funds Esperanto-learners in the UK. Through this I went to Slovakia, Germany, and Poland many times. I've also travelled independently to Czechia, Japan, the Netherlands, Italy, Norway, Austria, and with family to Greece, Croatia, France, and all throughout the UK. I have a vague recollection of taking on this traveller persona around the time it was become trendy online, and it was more reflexive than any active kind of thing. Travel broadens horizons etc. etc.

Bujo sickness

This morning I slept in an extra two hours, just because I could. Then I got up, showered, did my physiotherapy, and looked at my phone. And saw that I was an hour late for an induction at a new job which I had completely forgotten about.

Should I care more about films?

Several people have asked me if I've been or am going to see the new Avengers film. I haven't seen any of the MCU films, aside from Iron Man 1/2 back before the MCU was A Thing, and I have to say I feel blissfully little interest in doing so. I generally go to the cinema about two times a year, and only when a trusted person has given me a specific recommendation.

Iberian or Slav?

I mentioned recently that I've been trying to decide what to do at the end of the next academic year. One of the options is to go aroad, and up to now I had only been considering China and Spain, the former for the pay and the latter for the culture. But recently, while I was in Bratislava, I fell back in love with the language there, and my close friend raised an interesting proposal: what if both lived in Prague together?

Types of blogging

I'm going away to Bratislava, Slovakia, this weekend to visit some Esperanto friends I write a blog with, so the next few days' posts are probably going to be quite short. This made me think about the different types of blogging there are. We all know the corporate blogs, the food blogs, the tutorial blogs. But I'm talking about 100%, raw, certified Hobby Blogging here, and there are far more interesting, less marketable, lesser-known categories to be explored. Here, I will list those that I have discovered.
